"A 4-piece force, pushing the limits of sonic exploration. Their music is a hypnotic blend of  reverb-soaked  rhythm guitars, driving melodic leads, hip hop influenced percussive elements and industrial synthesizers all intertwined with harmonious male and female vocals"

The Dharma Chain has become known for their distinctive live performances across Europe. The band is recognised for their ethereal and at rimes offensive guitars, reverb-soaked male and female vocals, and industrial and electronic undercurrents. They have appeared at festivals across the glove such as SXS (USA), Desertfest Berlin, Fuzz Club Festival (NL) Fusion (DE), Sharpe (SK), Duna Jam (IT) and Yonder (AU). In 2026, TDC will appear at Brighton, Manchester and Edinburgh Psych Fest, alongside extensive touring across France, the UK, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Germany.

Formed in Byron Bay, Australia, in 2020, The Dharma Chain relocated to Berlin in 2022, signing with Anomic Records and releasing their debut album, NOWHERE. Recorded between an abandoned church in the Gold Coast Hinterland and an East Berlin basement studio. In June 2026, The Dharma Chain released their second full-length, Some Kind of Pure State, through Spinda Records. Recorded and produced by Jonathan Dreyfus at Stare Crazy, Funkhaus Berlin, within the historic former GDR broadcasting complex, it explores love, addiction, political currents, and the search for meaning in everyday life.

"The driving rhythm section lifts the ethereal din of guitar swathes and reverbed vocals. Their music has that retro-futuristic 90s psych vibe, that revamped nostalgia [...] infused with RnR sex and sleaze. The show at Sharpe showed they deserve to be big players on the European psych scene”

—  Under The Radar (USA)

“The Dharma Chain continue their evolution on Some Kind Of Pure State, blending psych-rock, shoegaze, and post-punk into something entirely their own”  — Happy Mag (Australia)

“Moving between shoegaze, neo-psychedelia, and post-punk, the album builds a dense, pulsating wall of sound, with echoes à la Altın Gün and an industrial tension that recalls nocturnal Berlin”— Rockerilla (Italy)

“It’s a serene nod to shoegaze and fever dreams, and draws sonic inspiration from the masters, such as Ride and Slowdive. Succumb to the wall of sound and drown in the fluttering harmonic delays.”  — Psychedelic Baby Magazine (Slovenia)
